Translation Services
Whom do we have as translators?
We have over 1000 expert practitioners upon whom we can draw, who will each work into their own language, and within their own specialism. They often live in the target country, and so have local knowledge of client and business culture.
Are our translators qualified?
All our translators are fully qualified - they are most usually Members
or Fellows of the Institute of Linguists, or their
national
equivalent. All
have post-graduate Diplomas in Translation. They have many years of experience
in the profession, and of the highest reputation.
How do the translators work?
Our translators, as a general rule, to about 2000 words per day. They have the facility to use Trados or similar applications to assist them in their work, and to help build customer-specific terminology banks for future commissions. We are able to deal with commissions presented to us in almost any word-processing, presentational or DTP format.
A client can usually expect to have a commission of less than 2000 words returned within 24 hours of our acceptance of it..
Technical problems associated with formatting of documents, embedded graphics and so on are usually dealt with in-house, but we have a team of technical associates upon whom we may call for help - this may, of course, involve a surcharge.
How are larger commissions handled?
Larger projects (usually those over 50000 words) are completed by project teams, the project leader for each language co-ordinating and ensuring consistency of terminology, register and language.
At all times, we keep in regular touch with the client regarding progress,
and regarding any textual ambiguities we may find.
